Our first Salon Series reading will take place on October 26 with a supernatural new play by FPCT Member and Playwrights Workshop alum Sache Satta (they/he), directed by Machinal Movement Director Jarod Hanson.

Shifting by Sache Satta

Conor and Anya have a bucolic life in a cozy cabin in the woods outside a small town where she teaches elementary school, and he sells hardware. When Mark shows up unexpectedly, down on his luck and with nowhere to live, they open their home to him. As Mark’s true nature and intentions are revealed, their peace is shattered. No one and nothing are what they seem, and even the laws of nature seem to be shifting.

THIS PLAY IS BEST SUITED TO AN ADULT AUDIENCE AND MAY CONTAIN CONTENT THAT IS TRIGGERING TO SOME.

Please email support@fpct.org for detailed content warning information.

The cast includes local actors: Morgan Stanton, Stephen Craig, Debra Buonaccorsi, Larry Malkus, and Megan Livingston. A talk-back with the audience will be facilitated by FPCT Artistic Director and Playwrighting teacher Kimberley Lynne.

The Salon Series at FPCT is designed to actively engage our community in the development of new written work and in the exploration of classic texts. It provides playwrights, artists, and audience members with a casual, warm, low barrier entry point, especially for those that feel they don't have much experience. For playwrights this series provides a first chance to have their work in front of an audience - to see and hear it live outside of the confines of the imagination. For artists, this means a low-commitment opportunity to get involved, be seen, be part of our organization. For audience members this means an opportunity to participate meaningfully in open dialogue about art, perhaps influence the development of a new play, and occasionally participate as a reader, when needed. Ultimately, the goal is to engage our community in a way that is collaborative, pure, and not gate-kept in terms of artistic exploration or delivery.

THIS READING IS FREE TO ATTEND BUT REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.
